About Always Leveling

Starting Out

Where To Start1 / 10

New here? This is the order that works. None of it is required, and nothing is lost by doing it in a different order.

  • GATHER something. Open Gathering from the village and tap a node. Each gather takes 10 seconds and pays materials and EXP.
  • FIGHT something. Open Battle and press Fight on the first monster. Winning raises that monster’s level for you, and only a manual win pushes a stage forward.
  • PUT YOUR CREW TO WORK. You already own 5 Workers and 7 Mercenaries, free. Drag a Worker onto a gathering node and a Mercenary onto any monster you have beaten — they earn while you are logged out, for up to 24 hours.
  • SPEND YOUR ATTRIBUTE POINTS. Every level gives 10 (past level 500, every second level). Unspent points do nothing. Spend them on the Character page.
  • CRAFT A PIECE OF GEAR at the Workshop once you have materials.

Best habit: clear a stage by hand ONCE, then leave Mercenaries on it. Idle income ignores your stats. Only pushing a new stage needs them.

Where Everything Is2 / 10

The village map is home. Every building is a screen; click one to go there. The same list is behind the menu button at the top of the left rail, and on desktop Spacebar opens the village map from anywhere. Every name below is a rail entry.

A crimson dot on a rail entry means something is waiting: unspent points or an achievement to claim. Follow the dots.

Not sure what a page does? Open the G-Host chat at the bottom of the rail and press Ask. Every answer is a page of this guide.

How To Earn Gold3 / 10

Gold comes from defeating monsters. That is the only source that scales with how much you play. Gathering pays materials and EXP, never gold. If your gold is not moving, nothing is fighting for you. Dungeon chests, referral rewards, Auction House sales and premium packs also pay gold, but none can be farmed.

  • Deploy Mercenaries on the highest stage you have cleared by hand. They bank a kill on a fixed clock whether or not the tab is open, and every kill pays.
  • A higher stage pays more gold, but not proportionally. Gold grows slower than monster level, so ten stages up is not ten times the gold.
  • Deposit what you are not spending at the Central Bank. It pays interest daily and compounds.

Gold from a manual Fight is the one battle reward the G-Host Boost does not multiply (auto-farm and the Shadow are boosted). Gathering never pays gold. More Mercenaries on better stages is the answer.

Why You Keep Dying4 / 10

Losing means the monster out-stats you. There is no timing, no dodge button, no way to play a fight better. A battle is decided when it starts, so fix it before the fight.

  • Spend every attribute point. This is the most common cause. Unspent points do nothing.
  • Beating a monster raises ITS level for you. A stage you cleared ten times is much harder now. That is normal. Stop pushing it.
  • Eat and drink. A meal and a potion are free wins in any fight you are close to losing.
  • Learn a mastery pathway. The talent tree changes how fights resolve far more than raw stats do.
  • Upgrade the gear you already wear rather than crafting more of it.

Losing costs only the potions and meal you used (spent win or lose). No lost EXP, no durability, no other penalty.

How To Level Faster5 / 10

Character EXP comes from exactly two things: a completed gather and a monster defeat. Everything that speeds up levelling is a way of getting more of those, or of making each one pay more.

  • A monster defeat pays that monster’s EXP value scaled by its level, and the scaling is steep: a Lv. 10 kill pays about 16 times a Lv. 1 kill, a Lv. 100 kill about 250 times. The highest stage you can farm is the biggest lever you have.
  • Mercenaries bank a defeat on a fixed clock — every 12 seconds on a normal stage, 15 on an Alpha, 30 on a Boss — for up to 24 hours while you are logged out, and every one pays full EXP. Seven Mercenaries on your best cleared stage out-earn anything you can do by hand.
  • Workers pay EXP on every gather they complete, on the same offline clock. Five idle Workers is EXP left on the table.
  • The Catch-Up Boost pays ×5 EXP on all of it while you are more than 100 levels below the realm’s strongest player. Every new account has it.
  • Clear ONE stage higher by hand whenever you can, then move the Mercenaries up. Only a manual win unlocks a stage for farming, and the next stage always pays more per kill.

What does not help, whatever another game taught you:

  • Speed is initiative only — it decides who acts first in a round and nothing else. More Haste never gives you more turns, more attacks or more kills.
  • Killing in fewer hits does not speed up idle income. A Mercenary banks one defeat per clock interval whether the fight would have taken one hit or forty; your stats do not touch auto-farm at all.
  • A manual Fight pays the same EXP as a farmed defeat of the same stage. Fighting by hand is not faster than deploying crew — it is only how a new stage gets unlocked.
  • Training (the village building) merges idle crew into higher-level crew. It pays no EXP and nothing “trains” there while you are away.

Each level costs more than the last (1,000 × level^2.5 EXP; a gentler curve past level 500, where attribute and mastery points then arrive every second level). Levelling slows by design — the answer is always a higher stage, never a faster clock.

What A Level Pays6 / 10

Every level pays 10 attribute points and one mastery point. Those points ARE the reward — the level number itself does nothing on its own, and points left unspent do nothing either.

Attribute points go into the seven primary stats on the Character page; mastery points buy nodes on the Mastery page. Past the high-level threshold both arrive every second level instead of every level, and the Character page states the cadence for where you are.

How To Get Stronger7 / 10

All power ends up in the same seven primary stats. "Stronger" means one of these, roughly in order of how much they matter early:

SourceWhereCosts
Attribute pointsCharacterLevelling
Mastery pathwayMasteryMastery points
Gear and upgradesWorkshopMaterials and gold
ArtifactsArtifactsAchievement Tokens or gold
PetsPetsAchievement Tokens or gold
The BlessingBlessingGathered materials
The Auction HouseBankGold, Tokens or AL$ — buy another player’s finished Lv. 20 gear or enchanted Exotic outright

The Stat Management table on the Character page shows which source produced each number. Use it to find the one you are neglecting.

To level faster, let the crew run: EXP accrues offline for up to 24 hours, and the Catch-Up Boost gives ×5 EXP while you are more than 100 levels below the realm’s strongest.

The Daily Reset8 / 10

The game runs on server time (UTC, shown in the top bar). Everything daily resets at 00:00 UTC, not your local midnight. Three allowances do not carry over, so use them:

Resets dailyAllowance
Arena5 duel attempts, plus up to 5 more bought with gold
Endless Boss2 attempts, each weekday fielding its own boss
Dungeon2 attempts, more with a premium pack

The Arena also closes 23:00–00:00 UTC while its daily ladder settles, and its rank reward is claimed on the Arena page after the reset.

Two more clocks: the Central Bank pays interest at 18:00 server time on what the vault holds, and the Dark Carnival (while it runs) locks staffing in the evening and brings the crowd overnight.

Saving Your Guest Account9 / 10

If you started with NEW CHRONICLE instead of signing up, you are a guest. Do this now: a guest character is real and permanent, but the only key to it is this browser. Clear cookies, switch device or lose the machine, and the chronicle is gone for good.

Press SAVE CHRONICLE in the top bar (where Log Out would be) and add an email and password. Nothing is copied or reset; your character just becomes reachable from anywhere. Every level, item, kill and resource stays.

Guests have no Log Out button: signing out would throw away the only key. Guests can play everything except two things that need a saved account: global chat and the Auction House. A guest cannot enter the Auction House at all; trading there needs a saved account at least 24 hours old and Lv. 500. Anything a saved account already listed can still be cancelled or claimed.

While You Were Away10 / 10

Come back after time away and one “While you were away” report totals everything: Worker gathers, Mercenary kills, Shadow stage pushes, Carnival takings and bank interest.

It is a receipt, not a claim window. Everything in it is already on your account, so closing it loses nothing. Offline progress accrues for up to 24 hours per absence.
